The University of Texas Stepping Up To ‘Pay’ Student Athletes Better

The University of Texas will spend close to $6 million a year to ensure compliance with scholarship athletes. The school employs 350 workers to coach and care for the all student athletes, and that funding all comes football and men’s basketball. The university will have to spread the wealth among the all the players based on recent legal rulings, and that will break down to about $10,000 per player. The money will cover college expenses that aren’t covered by a traditional full scholarship and give each player $5,000 in compensation for the university’s use of his image.
