President Obama Announces Stall On Immigration Reform

President Barack Obama announced last week that he will not take any executive actions on immigration until after the November congressional elections. This announcement seems to rebut earlier promises promise to act on immigration reform by the end of summer. And the reaction among undocumented immigrants, activists, and sympathetic citizens was loud and angry. Arturo Carmona, executive director of the Los Angeles-based Latino advocacy group Presente.org released a statement, which included the quote, “The announcement is pretty shameful and once again demonstrates that for Obama, politics comes before Latino lives.”
