Ebola Joke From Sick Passenger Results In Hazmat Treatment In The Dominican Republic

What happens when a passenger makes a joke about Ebola on a crowded plane? US Airways Flight 845 from Philadelphia landing in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday found out. According to Dominican press reports, a passenger on that flight sneezed and said: “I have Ebola. You’re all screwed.” That led to a four-person crew wearing blue hazmat suits rushing onto plane when it landed. As this incident occurred, a flight attendant said over the intercom: “I’ve done this for 36 years. I think the man that said this is an idiot, and I’ll say that straight out.” You can watch passenger video of the incident here. So far, more than 3,400 people in West Africa have died from Ebola. Five U.S. airports will begin screening passengers traveling from Ebola-ravaged countries by taking their temperature upon arrival, starting this weekend.
